Solved the problem :)

In my /usr/local/share/fonts
I found two ttf-files:
=> monofont.ttf 41.036 kB
=> MONOFONT.ttf 33.896 kB

as soon as I renamed monofont.ttf to _monofont.ttf
the problem was gone.

Thanks anyway,
Carl

Das schaut in der Tat schrecklich aus :-)
Gelle.

Well, soory, ftstring and ftview were allready installed.
I upload their results (both fpr 25 pt.)

Both look good, so where is the bug?

They are part of the ft2demos package; normally, those demo programs are installed in a GNU/Linux distribution.

Das schaut in der Tat schrecklich aus :-)

Well, I couldn't find them, can you provide me a link from where I can download them?

Now I have added a desktop-snapshot wher I were about to install Monofonto for my use. Hope it works.

Bye, Carl

I can't repeat this with the CVS version of FreeType.

Please try one of the FreeType demo programs (ftstring,
ftview) whether this problem shows up. Otherwise it
may not be a bug of FreeType but in another component
which we don't take care of.

Hi,

s.o. told me to let you know.
On my old pc the Monofonto
( http://e314.de/fonts/zip/Monofonto.zip )
is displayed very well:

Suse 9.3, KDE 3.5.6-77.1 and xorg 6.8.2.-30
But with
Suse 10.3, KDE 3.5.8-31.1 and xorg 7.2-135.4
or KDE 3.5.7
the space between each letter of this font is much to much so that this font is just unusable.

To it looks lik the jump from version 6.8 to 7.2 of xorg causes this problem.
As I would like to use this font, is there anything you can do?

If you'd like you can let me know: gooly [*] gmx [dt] at
Thanks in advance,
Carl
