organizedGameTimeEnabled is false for now. I assume these issues are too trivial to go unnoticed in case somebody ever touches this again. closing bug.

ok maybe this doesn't belong here but to attract more people and to not depend on the server timezone i suggest to move the countdown to the main menu and replace "Ysagoon Online Gaming" by "YOG (next game in " + a live countdown.

as said before i would rather want it to be on predefined times. so the client announces the games to start every ( GMT_OFFSET % 2 ? "[even]" : "[odd]" ) hours and prints the countdown.

now i would really have to join yog to find out when to rejoin to hit the arranged game as times differ with every server restart. also the pre-announced game would be delayed by restarting the server :/

Oh, and the text isn't translatable :( It'll need to be before release.

I just compiled the new server, enabled game message and instantly saw 2 bugs and one possible problem:

  • The timer goes up. Started at 1 hour 57 left, and 2 minutes later, it said there was 1 hour and 59 minutes left till the next game. Its counting up, not counting down. And when it hit 2 hours (just now), it reset to 0 hours and 0 minutes, and rising.
  • The message is sent far too frequently. 2ce a minute it appears. I would think once when they login, and then once every half hour till the last half hour, then once at 15 minutes to go, 10 minutes to go, 5 minutes to go and then a notice when the time is done. So if a person logs in exactly when the timer is reset (2 hours left), he/she would get it 7 times (I double checked this ;) ), and not the 1000 times I am now.
  • When the game reaches 0 hours 0 mins it resets, so if someone is a minute late, they may think they're too late. Perhaps giving a 5 minute window before resetting the counter, then starting the counter at 1 hour 55 minute countdown.
