Yes you are right
this was an error not a warning
the fact is I do not clean-up my CERTI build tree
so often such that I did have the "ERROR" once
but when you re-run CMake on the "possibly in-error"
build tree you do not get the "ERROR" anymore :=)

CMake is a great tool,
I usually use it in every project I'm involved in
unless there are "striong external" constraints.

The first time I seriously used CMake was for
another open source project
https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/tsp

Strange - I saw it in 2.6.0-rc8 or so too.
The error is something looks like this (clean builddir):

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:9 (ADD_EXECUTABLE):
Target "cmTryCompileExec" links to item " rt" which has leading or trailing whitespace. This is now an error according to policy CMP0004.

CMake Error: Internal CMake error, TryCompile generation of cmake failed

------------------8<---------
" rt" is generated from
SET(CMAKE_REQUIRED_LIBRARIES "${CMAKE_REQUIRED_LIBRARIES} rt")
when ${CMAKE_REQUIRED_LIBRARIES} is empty.

btw: interesting to see you here - nice to know others also spread cmake over the world :-D

Hi Christian,

Thank you for this.
I'll have it fix soon (thanks to your patch)

I did use CMake CVS and CMake 2.6-RCx for
several weeks and I didn't noticed ERRORS but
just "warnings" due to missing policies (CMAKE_POLICY).

One remark more,
You posted the bug report as an anonymous user which
will prevent you for having "automatic" follow-up message.

I invite you to open a Savannah account and post your bug/patch/...
when logged-in Savannah.

cmake 2.6.0 creates some warnings and error messages when trying to configure certi 3.2.x. I've fixed it and attached the modified CMakeLists.txt
The biggest problem was this line in the main CMakeLists.txt:
SET(CMAKE_REQUIRED_LIBRARIES "${CMAKE_REQUIRED_LIBRARIES} rt")

Due to the " it was interpreted as one single string instead a list.
The rest of the changes only removes some cmake warnings.
