Closing this as duplicate of bug #24517 (please reopen if you think differently).

Sorry for replying so late, but I think this is a duplicate to bug #24517: IP reassembly crashes on unaligned IP headers. Have you tested with CVS HEAD after Oct 16th, 2008? It should be fixed there, I guess.

the appearance of that is same to my project, but i have not fixed my error through his code:

static u8_t buf[LWIP_MEM_ALIGN_SIZE(IP_FRAG_MAX_MTU + MEM_ALIGNMENT)];

or

#define IP_FRAG_USES_STATIC_BUF 0

i'm very wondering.
thanks very much.

Have a look at http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lwip-users/2008-04/msg00032.html
(and possibly other posts in that thread).

Unfortunately I haven't had time to look in detail as to the correctness of the fix to know whether it's ok to check in (I have kept the mail around to remind me to), but it may help you.

through a simulator, i found the crash source code is:
content: iprh = (struct ip_reass_helper*)r->payload;
file : ip_frag.c (ipv4)
func : ip_reass
line : 572

but i have no method to fix this.

execute "ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t -l 1500" on either computer.

on one pc:
"ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t -l 1471" response normal.
"ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t -l 1472" timeout, but lwip not crash.
"ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t -l 1473" lwip crash, the "1473" is crash threshold.

on another pc:
"ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t -l 1272" response normal.
"ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t -l 1273" timeout, but lwip not crash.
"ping xx.xx.xx.xx -t -l 1274" crash. the "1274" is threshold.

the version is 1.3

thanks for your attention.

Can you give more detail about how you reproduce this problem?

Can you say which version of lwIP you're using?
