The icons indicate where a user is, so that they knnow who else is online. In the case you mentioned, this is normal behaviour.

You are in the game, or YOG, so you have a YOG icon. You are also connected to IRC, but through YOG.

People with the IRC icon are not in the game. They're using a IRC client (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IRC_clients) to connect, but as with you being able to talk to irc through yog, they are able to talk to people on yog through irc.

Basically, ingame = yog, out of game = irc. They can chat both ways (you talk to them, they talk to you), BUT only people with YOG are ingame to play with. You can ask if people in IRC wanna play, but don't make a game and expect people on IRC to see it (we can't, you have to be ingame (or YOG) to see it.

Hope that wasn't too confusing.

when I go onto globulation2 I go to YOG and it says when I login I'm on irc channel #glob2 and when I look at the list of names it says I'm on YOG and not on irc
