The current CVS version
should support retrieving both interaction and object
class handle using fully qualified name:

getXXXClassHandle("parent1.parent2.leafchild") syntax

The "leaf" shortcut retrieval is supported for backward

should gives the same handle or an error if
"leafchild" is found in several subtrees.

The HLA_TestsSuite now contains the
test_FOMParse executable which may be used to test your FOM files. This is an HLA Federate which will create the specified
federation and optionnally, join the federation then
try to retrieve the specified object/interaction class handles
Try test_FOMParse --help for usage.

You are right it important.
However I think

should work for Object Class,

should give you the same handle unless there is name collision.

Interaction Class may not be working the same way
and its a bug.

In order to help us to test this
Could you provide a simple FED file +
a simple test program which exhibit the problem
and/or cover all usage you think of concerning

We will add it to HLA_TestsSuite for the next CERTI
release. (won't be in 3.3.0 though)

CERTI cannot support get Object Class Handle or interaction class Handle using 'getClassHandle("parentclass.subclass") format, but I think this method
is very useful for complex FED file.
