"rpmbuild -tb glusterfs-1.4.0qa40.tar.gz" command is working. I can compile it using command "rpmbuild -tb glusterfs-1.4.0qa40.tar.gz --without ibverbs --without modglfs". (I have no InfinityBand equipment and apache package is named as "httpd" in RedHat distros).

I rename "apache" package to "httpd" in glusterfs.spec file to satisfy dependencies on my Fedora9 and successfully built it with "--without ibverbs" option.

Those things you have listed are in 'if 0' part of code, and mostly will be deleted during the code cleanup phase.

rpmbuild is working fine with http://ftp.zresearch.com/pub/gluster/glusterfs/1.4-qa/glusterfs-1.4.0qa40.tar.gz

please do check and report. I am closing the bug related to O_CREAT,

Yes, current version from repository is compiled successfully without additional patches.

Other problems, I saw:

* same problem with open, O_CREAT and mask at glusterfs-guts/src/guts-parse.c:28

tio_fd = open (filename, O_WRONLY | O_CREAT);

should be like that:

tio_fd = open (filename, O_WRONLY | O_CREAT, 0777);

* wrong mask at xlators/protocol/server/src/server-protocol.c:5169

ret = mkdir (GLUSTERFSD_SPEC_DIR, 0x777);

mask there should be in octal form instead of hexadecimal:

ret = mkdir (GLUSTERFSD_SPEC_DIR, 0777);

* name clash in doc/qa: files with ".spec" extension are picked up by "rpmbuild -ta" command instead of "glusterfs.spec", thus "rpmbuild -ta ..." is not working anymore:

$ rpmbuild -ta glusterfs-1.4.0qa34.tar.gz
error: line 5: Unknown tag: volume brick-ns

The repository version has the fix already. Please confirm if it works for you.

I has the compilation problem with glusterfs-1.3.10 and Fedora9. Compilator says that O_CREAT argument for open() require third argument. I also fixed typo in one function above. See small patch in attachment.
