Thanks. Just installed 1.3 and it works like a charm.

tw-0.1.3 now calls explicitly elinks.

Thank you for your report.

Yes, that seems to be the problem. I confirmed by changing the tw code to call elinks directly rather than links and my problem disappeared.

Unfortunately, on Debian, using elinks as a replacement for links without making this code change is a bit difficult since elinks is no longer supporting /etc/alternatives. From the elinks Debian package README file:

---

Q: What happened to the links alternative?
A: Beginning 0.11.3-2, ELinks no longer installs the links alternative and doesn't provide links. ELinks should be invoked as "elinks" and the links package can be installed alongside elinks.

I'm not sure why this decision was made.

However, regardless, if tw relies on elinks specific options, perhaps tw should call elinks explicitly and make that a dependency?

I noted that the "links" command shipped with my distribution comes from "elinks" package (compatibility mode?), maybe yours comes from the real "links" package, which could differ in this argument.

From the elinks homepage:
ELinks is an Open Source project covered by the GNU General Public License. It originates from the Links project written by Mikulas Patocka.

You could try to replace "links" with "elinks".

Thanks for the great tool.

I'm running into some trouble using google's dictionary:

  1. jamie@liberace:~$ tw translate.google.com.en-es hello

URL expected after -dump
.URL expected after -dump
.0 jamie@liberace:~$

I fixed it with the attached patch, but I'm not really sure why the things I removed were in their in the first place, so I may be breaking something else.
