Closing this since:

FindRTI.cmake is now shipped with CMake since CMake 2.6.3.

We use FindRTI for HLA_Tutorial and HLA_TestsSuite.
XPlane HLA plugin needs to be updated but that's another story.

I did not receive any explanation, just a bug tracker notification that they "won't fix" my bug report.

Strange,

I did not catch the rejection on the CMake ML,
did you received a private e-mail?

You may be right with the 3rd party repo.

We may ship FindRTI.cmake with our libHLA component.

Just an update: The FindRTI.cmake module was recently rejected by CMake. I don't quite understand why, but I guess they want 3rd party modules to be included in 3rd party repositories.

Hi Petr,

A nice idea and contrib.
This should be usable for any federate, including
XPlane plugin, HLATestsSuite, HLA_Tutorial...

I think you should add your FindRTI.cmake to
the CVS in certi/scripts
(just near the current FindCERTI.cmake)
this way we will ship it with next CERTI release.

I'll try your FindRTI for HLATestsSuite, HLA_Tutorial
on Linux with CERTI, may be others may try with other RTI.

When we are using it as drop-in replacement for
FindCERTI then I suggest you submit your FindRTI directly
to the CMake team:
http://www.cmake.org/Wiki/CMake:Module_Maintainers

FindXXX.cmake modules should follow some guidelines:
http://www.cmake.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/Modules/readme.txt?root=CMake&view=markup

Hello!
The plug-in make system uses FindCERTI to find the RTI infrastructure. This script is not able to find MAK RTI or other standard compliant RTI.
I kindly suggest
- to create (RTI independent) FindRTI.cmake that can find the RTI libraries from various RTI implementations.
- to use in the XPlane plug-in only the FindRTI, so the plug-in can be compiled e.g. with the MAK RTI.

Attached is a possible implementation of FindRTI.cmake that can detect CERTI, MAK RTI 2.2 and MAK RTI 3.2 for MSVC8.0.
