stumpwm crashes with new-window-preferred-frame set to empty, and a window tries to open with no empty frames available.

I'm using stumpwm 0.9.4.1, clisp 2.44.1 (compiled locally), on ubuntu 7.10.

It's easy to reproduce: start stumpwm with new-window-preferred-frame set to empty in .stumpwmrc, open one window (no crash, since an empty frame is there), then open another window.

If you split into a bunch of frames first, the crash doesn't happen until there are no more empty frames.

This bug wasn't in stumpwm 0.9.2.
