Closing this bug since it's out of date. Please open a new bug if you find a crash in 2.6.

Patch #7141 should help with the slow pathfinding. It'll still be slow but not as slow as without the patch.

I loaded the attached M5_4.sav.gz in a debug build of Bos Wars 2.5 + gcc compatibility patches, and it didn't crash. It was very slow however; apparently, there are many enemy soldiers near the southeast corner, trying to find a path into the forest or something like that. Did they perhaps see an airplane fly there? Anyway, I sent a tank to greet them, and as soon as they got a new target, the game was fast again.

I suppose the AI should be changed to realize it cannot reach its target, and give that up and find something else to do. Like walk in line to the player's gun turret perhaps.

I doubt the file is corrupt.
Consequent saves of the same game were corrupted as well.
That could mean some memory structure wasn't quite right.
File corruption could be checked, couldn't it ?

I am still playing level 4 and it's still very slow.I just tried saving the 5th time and BOS WARS just crashed! I tried restarting and loading the saved game but it starts to load and then crashes so the file is probably corrupt.

Yesterday I was playing the fourth level of the campaign and the game got really slow. The rest of the computer worked. This bug sounds like the same thing. I am playing the ASUS version of the game on their Eee PC model 901.

Loading the attached saved game crashed BW.

Note : Yesterday evening, I was playing level 5 of the campaign included. The game ate CPU, was going very very slow and not very responsive.
