Nothing has been filed or followed up with a similar bug so I assume this has been fixed already. Will close anyway. Reopen if still occur.

This is old, can be closed, though I don't think anything has ever been done about this.

Ah right, great it works for you now. I had forgotten this bug, it's a long-standing PITA that haunts me every now and then. Gotta look into it sometime, will leave this bug open with a modified summary.

Looks like something in the __db files got hosed. I removed them and started and all is well now.

Still hanging after another update. While stracing, I see this:

select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {1, 0}) = 0 (Timeout)

over and over again and it just sits there. GUI comes up, but shows nothing.

Any way I can help debug?

Hmh that's weird... Straw doesn't do any synchronous network stuff anymore, except with the subscribedialog/rssfinder, and all the asynchronous stuff should be strictly time limited so most of the time control is in the UI.

You might have managed to get the code from the CVS at a bad time, could you try again? If it still happens, I'll have to figure out where to insert suitable debug printings to see what's wrong...

Just grabed the latest CVS and started straw and it just sat there, when I straced it, it was trying to do a select over and over again. Almost looks like it is getting hung on a web site down or something.
