It might have been some artefact - such things can sometimes show up when you example switch to another window while drawing the bond, or maybe if something pops up on you.
I am closing the bug for now - please submit a new one if you find out how to reproduce it.
To your question about carbon symbol - if you also want the hydrogens to be shown, you can just type for example CH3 as symbol and it will remain visible. If you only want 'C' alone, you can use the right-click context menu to set "Show symbol" to yes. You might have to switch off hydrogens in the same menu - it depends on your default configuration for hydrogens.
Cheers

OK, the problem is not reproducible. It appears sometimes when you are drawing molecules, but I failed to find out a reproducible way -> closing this bug

Sorry, it was a nitrogen atom. But btw., how can I force that a C atom also has explicitly the name "C" (the standard is that c atoms don't have a name)?

Sorry, but I cannot reproduce this bug. Would you please provide some more information?
How do you enter the first C atom? How do you draw the bonds (just by clicking or by dragging)? Are these single, double?
Thanks
Beda

- open BKchem and draw a C atom
- go to the bond insertion mode and draw two bond from the C atom
- now you think that the first drawn bond is not correct, so I tried to delete it

Result: The bond cannot be deleted, I cannot use Undo, because I want to keep the secondly drawn bond and only want to delete the other one. When I right-click on the first bond, also nothing happens, when I left-click on and then press DEL also nothing happens
