Why not adding a checksum check in the uninstall routine to verify the files to delete are the ones installed?

Hi,

This has a simple workaround: just install Microsoft DirectX. It will automatically replace the WineD3D DLLs that are used by programs (d3d8.dll, etc).

However, a proper solution is not so simple. In theory, we could have an uninstall option which removes all the DLLs, but then, consider the following scenario:

- User installs WineD3D
- User installs MS DirectX, overwriting part of WineD3D
- User uninstalls WineD3D

the result is a crippled install, which is most likely not what the user expected.

Unless someone has a wonderful idea, I think the best option for now is not to support uninstalls. I'd rather not support something than support it in a flawed way.

There is no uninstall option provided by the installer.

Is there any workaround for already installed WineD3D?
