This is done with #28561 making the backend based on url.el.

all http calls are made with url-retrieve which makes asynchrnous calls.

Make http calls asynchronous so when having a slow connection or networking problems Emacs won't freeze up.

Right now its using the following code to make the http call process:

(setq proc
(open-network-stream
"network-connection-process" (identica-http-buffer)
server (string-to-number port)))

To make them asynchronous, the code needs to use the make-network-process command instead and pass the argument nowait: true.

(setq proc
(make-network-process
:name "network-connection-process"
:buffer (identica-http-buffer)
:host server
:service (string-to-number port)
:sentinel sentinel
:coding "utf-8"
:nowait t))

The problem is that I don't know how to use this function correctly. Using the previous code returns an error since it doesn't wait for the proc to exit successfully before continuing execution of program.
