You are welcome, and thanks for the followup Jon!

It's so great to see the latest Lordsawar on the latest Ubuntu remix.

Hi Ben,

Attached are three new screen shots of your screen size improvements for Netbooks. Thank you for your work on this. It is now possible to play on the smaller screens.

Ubuntu Netbook Remix: 9.10
LordsAWar!: 0.1.6-1

Thanks!

Now making the height of the map 400 pixels when the screen size is 600 pixels or smaller. It's a hack, but please let me know how it works for you.

I've shrunk the height of the splash image by another 25 pixels.

For the main game window I think I'll query the height of the screen and adjust things accordingly. I haven't checked anything in for that yet.

Hi Ben,

I've configured a VirtualBox Ubuntu 9.04 guest to be the same size as a netbook screen. I only had access to a real netbook for a day. I'm attaching a screenshot of LordsAWar 0.1.6 pre 4's main menu. It displays much better on a small screen than 0.1.5-1, but the last menu item (Quit) is still off the bottom of the screen. Would it be possible to move the menu items to the top or center them on the right-hand side of the screen under the title? Anyway, hope you find this helpful and thank you for listening!

Thanks!
Jon

I've shrunk the game screen by 35 pixels or so. It makes sense that the game window have a form factor that is in proportion to today's wider screens.

I've also shrunk the main menu by a few pixels, and it might need to be shrunk a little more.

The big problem is that the main screen is 635 pixels in height. I'm not sure where we can shed pixels from. ideas?

In version 0.1.6 of the game, many of the dialogs are smaller. The main menu has 6 buttons instead of 8, and the new game dialog has been broken up into two or three smaller dialogs.

Thanks for filing this bug, I want to make lordsawar playable on 1024x600 resolutions. Let's use this bug as a place to post screenshots that don't look right, or are just too big for netbooks.

Hi Ben,

I had the chance to install LordsAWar! on an Asus 1000HE netbook running the Ubuntu 9.04 NBR (Net Book Remix). The game installed fine, but wasn't playable since the maximum resolution of netbooks is usually 1024x600. I've attached a screenshot of what it looked like. Would it be possible to allow LordsAWar! to scale to this resolution?

Thanks!
Jon
