Now you can press 'e' key when cursor is on a short url to expand it temporarily in the buffer. Next timeline update will revert it back to its short form. The conversion is also logged in the Messages buffer.

Images in buffer is not part of this fix, so I'll open a new ticket just for that part.

I would prefer to have an option to expand urls and show images, but not to automatically access URLs posted in dents. That would spread too much information for me.

Something like “hovering over a link shows it’s long url or the image”.

- for url shortened URL show expanded version
- for urls to pictures (tweetpic, yfrog, etc) show the picture in the buffer
