This is fixed in svn.

After a human player wins the game, any hidden maps are completely cleared, see opponent's stacks and production is turned on, and the city history report is shown.

Also, the player's stacks are drained of all movement points.

When I say original game I'm always referring to Warlords II Deluxe, never to the complete original, if only because I am essentially unfamiliar with that except through abandon ware. I've got an actual Warlords II Deluxe CD-ROM. ;)

Anyway, it turns out that in W2DELUXE, if you win by killing off all enemy players, but have a whole lot of neutral cities leftover, the game keeps on going! So much for my quick test of what would happen.

But back on topic - your proposal sounds like a good idea to me.

Iirc, the original game bailed out immediately when you won the game by the other players surrendering. When you won the game by taking all of the cities, then you got to have a look around and look at charts.

I agree that it raises the fun-factor to be able to roam around the map and to look at the charts after you've won the game.

I was unaware that you could view all production and stacks in the original game. That's a nice touch.

I find the city history report a lot of fun in lordsawar. I have a feeling that it goes unnoticed by many gamer players!

I'll try to make the game do the following after a human player has won and the victory screen has been shown:

1. show the city history dialog
2. allow show production of enemy cities
3. allow the viewing of enemy stacks

what do you think?

After being victorious, the game returns to the main screen. I always enjoy looking at the progress of the various players in the game.

In the original game, after the victory screen, it allows you to go back into the game interface, view all production capabilities, remaining enemy units etc that weren't available for viewing before you were victorious (at least if you didn't enable view enemy stacks and such), look over all the statistics just as if you were simply in your turn etc. Personally I never cared much for most of this except for the normal history, money, etc screens.

In Civ 3 you get some kind of automated replay of the history dialog. I don't care too much for the automated part, but I wouldn't mind just having it switch to the history/money dialog for viewing until you return to the menu. Might be easier to just do what the original game did, though (plus some people might prefer to examine what the enemy/enemies had left?).
