Software Source, Synaptic and Update Manager all work. I tested on both a fully updated i386 and mipsel. I made sure to have an intended sources.list by checking Core software and Source code and selecting Main server in Software Sources. I also removed any entries in Third-Party Software.

Update Manager now says "current dist not found in meta-release file", but I'll save that for another bug report.

I tested the new i386 package. MatchURI was a bit off (causing our repos to show up in Third Party in Software Sources), so I committed a fix for that (and changed changelog to point to Debian while at it).

Renaming to metad-security sounds good.

Oh, and Sam. Re comment #2.

we could rename our security repo. either updates/metad or metad-security would let us create a totally separate mirror layout for security.

I've just uploaded packages for i386, and I'll try and do mipsel RSN.

I'm attaching an improved gNewSense.info. gNewSense.mirrors should also be changed like BaseURI. This makes software-properties-gtk able to start.

However, this fix does not make it work as it should, because it can't see gnewsense-security. That's probably because of the way the repo is layed out and a matter for another bug report. Let's first fix this one.

gNewSense.info and gNewSense.mirrors are now in the python-apt package. Update Manager now works, but Software sources still doesn't:

System -> Admin -> Software Sources doesn't start. We'll probably need some files for gNS in /usr/share/python-apt/templates/.

System -> Admin -> Update Manager: same thing.
