I haven't seen any indication of wifi rapidly cycling with Parkes.

On rms' box solved part of this not via sysctl, but by putting "dmesg 0" in /etc/rc.local, and then making a pm script that would "dmesg 1" before anything else so the hibernate percentage done / debugging info would be visable, and then "dmesg 0" after wake to avoid spewage.

So I guess that makes this ticket 3 separate bugs/fixes...

The /etc/sysctl.conf change mentioned does work, but has the unfortunate side-effect of also hiding pm-hibernate status (eg % done etc).

Also I guess this should be 2 bug reports, since the rapid on/off cycling problem is really seperate from the a bunch of stuff gets spewed to the console problem.

Have you tried hacking /etc/sysctl.conf ?

#kernel.printk = 4 4 1 7

Not sure what the correct fix would be - /etc/rsyslog.conf perhaps, if we know what system outputs the errors, we can probably fix it there. (I assume because its going to all ttys its through .emerg, perhaps that should be fixed to something general)

Makes virtual terminals unusable, and wifi rapidly cycling like this can't be good (note this seems to stop and stay on once a wifi network is actually connected to).

This is with linux-image-2.6.32.2-libre-lemote
