hiding gnome-terminals menu (under view) helps to prevent a few of these sort of issues.

If I understand correctly this is a shortcut key conflict between emacs and gnome-terminal. Not likely something we're going to fix, so if you think this is a problem please take it up with upstream (GNOME, Emacs or both).

sorry I've just learn by #gnewsense ompaul that they just not are friend emacs and gnome-terminal

* sudo aptitude install emacs-nox

* launch a terminal and write emacs

it launch emacs-nox inside a term

but if you try to get the emacs menu but shortcut, you don't arrived and get gnome-terminal menu thans the emacs one.
