I think the -l option should be either removed or changed so that it affects only the separate files in ~/.boswars/logs/ and not the logs embedded in save files.

I misunderstood the description. There's is clearly a bug. There's is also a crash when trying to save a game when the "-l" option was used.

The flags on the command-line control the way the engine operates. They are not and should not be preserved in the game save files.

When a game is started without -l, saved and loaded later with -l option enabled, it still writes to the log.

reproduce:
boswars
new game
save
quit
boswars -l
load game

tested on latest svn with strace.
OS: GNU/Linux
