Closing. The fix is in 0.2.0 which was just released.

FYI the fix for the seeing enemy vectoring bug is not in 0.1.9, it is in the latest version in subversion.

Did you compile from the tarball? Did you remember to make install?

Yes this would fix the problem for me.

I run the bots on hard.

I have downloaded and running the version LordsAWar! 0.1.9

I am having a little problem just starting the game

Steps

start new game

start random map leave as default

edit options and select all (tick)

view enemies
view production
hidden map
diplomacy
cusp of war
intense combat
military advisor
random turns

leave all as human

Watch it crash before the game starts on in the first turn.

I think I understand the bug a little more now. You have the view-production game option turned on, so this means you can see the enemy city details inside the city window. So along with the regular city details, it also (and unfortunately) shows the vectoring lines for that city.

I agree that the vectoring should NOT be shown when the "view production" option is set.

I have committed a change to the sources that I think addresses this problem, although I have not witnessed the problem myself.

Please let me know if this fixes the problem for you.

Please install the very latest version that is in subversion.

Here are some handy steps:
$ svn co svn://svn.savannah.nongnu.org/lordsawar/lordsawar
$ cd lordsawar/trunk
[examine the DEPENDENCIES file for the packages required to build the software]
$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure
$ make -j3
$ sudo make install

The bug that prevented view-enemies from working is fixed in the latest sources.

If it happens (as you say) in the later stages due to bot intelligence, which computer player are you using? hard or easy?

Thanks for taking the time to help!

Do you recommend I install the stable or development?

I am playing with view production on

I will start a new game just for you (and me) and give you the autosave.sav file found in ~/.lordsawar.

I will download the latest version first so I can play with random turns.

Side note
I am playing with view enemy on but that is not functioning I should put that on a new thread. Will test in the latest version first.

It happens later in the game due to the bots intelligence. The bot sends units to cities close to the action.

are you playing with "view production" turned on (in the game options)?

in normal circumstances you shouldn't be able to click on an enemy city. is it possible to click on an enemy city earlier in the game (with view production turned off)?

See the attached? I don't see an attachment. I need the autosave.sav file found in ~/.lordsawar.

Can you find a quicker way to replicate the problem?

To replicate

Start a new game with warlords set to hard.
Towards the end of the game is when you will see it.
Randomly click on a enemy city and look for the attached.

Wow, that's a surprise. I'll need the steps to reproduce the problem, or the saved-game file.
