Is this still an issue?

I am also seeing this error

Mar 5 10:10:45 localhost kernel: application bug: tpb(3170) has SIGCHLD set to SIG_IGN but calls wait().
Mar 5 10:10:45 localhost kernel: (see the NOTES section of 'man 2 wait'). Workaround activated.

I'm running FC1 with tpb-0.6.0-1fc0.94.i386.rpm.

I found this information
o A new system message has been added to Red Hat Linux 9:

application bug: <app-name>(<app-pid>) has SIGCHLD set to SIG_IGN but calls wait(). (see the NOTES section of 'man 2 wait'). Workaround activated.

This message (which is displayed on the system console and/or in the system log files) indicates that the application is not completely standards compliant with respect to its handling of child processes.
If you see this message, you should alert the application's
developers.

Have any idea what's going on here?

Workaround:
On RedHat 9 you could to use "setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1" to keep tpd from crashing with the above bug. You might even want set the LANG to "C" to avoid trouble with fonts.

I don't know what causes this message. Neither tpb nor the xosd library calls wait(). This message appears only on Red Hat systems. This is why I suspect, that it possibly has something to do with the Red Had specific pthread implementation. For now I suggest to ignore this message ...
