Okay, the crash has been fixed. It was actually a bug in the dialogue engine (which will also be used in v0.4), so it is good you reported it :).

Actual cause of the problem was a missing dialogue choice. If you are sent to Fingolson, but speak to Jelom before, there was no fitting answer for the player. So the dialogue engine returned early, leaving some iterators in a bad state. --> Segfault.

I've attached the fixed dialogue, in case you're interested. However, I ran into more problems after having finally talked to Fingolson and Jelom: the player would not move down to the cellar. There were some bugs in the event system that are fixed in CVS, so your save might not be 100% compatible with my version of Adonthell. So it may work for you after all.

Anyway, thanks again for the report!

Here's that save file with the seg fault. Just try walking down to Fingolson.

I also have the save without the seg fault and the save that provided the starting point for both. If you want those just ask.

Hope this helps.

It's true that we're mainly concentrating on v0.4, but if possible, I'd like to have a look at the issue. (There's still a release planned for MacOS X, and possibly a version with TTF support and translations into other languages.)

So if you could send over one of those saves, that would be great.

After you retrieve the stone from Lady Silverhair's luggage and take it to Jelom, and then go to Erek to convince Jelom. If you take Erek directly to Jelom they talk and then send you to Fingolson.

Every time I do it that way the game quits with a "Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)" sometimes immediately (especially if loading a save right at that point) or later, but always before talking to Fingolson.

But if you talk to Erek and then go up to Jelom and talk to him and then proceed (back to Erek I think) the game proceeds fine and is beatable.

Not sure if this bug will even be dealt with as I imagine that development has moved onto 0.4. Thanks though.
