I made a fix for this recently (have been bogged down in ncurses and xterm changes).  It'll be in the 9.8f patch.  (It also reminded
me that it's a good point to add linebreak mode, which I've started
implementing).  I'm attaching a copy of the 9.8e5 patch, which
has the fix for this bug in it.

When a line has odd number of single-width characters and some double-widths, and so the first half of a double-width comes at the term width, linewrap doesn't show the double-width character but the next single-width one, skipping all the double-widths between.
