It's no longer a blocker if it's blacklisted.

Thanks for the report.

Luckily, this package does not exist in deltah or metad.

I see that the project's website [1] has a poll running for features for the next version. One of the options is "Substitute poweriso with free GNU GPL converting solutions", which has currently 0 out of 7 votes.

No bug about this has been posted to its bug tracker [2].

Steps to reproduce: in the menu, click "Image Conversion" -> "Convert Image to ISO". First a pop-up dialog about ISO-9660 appears. Click OK. Then another pop-up dialog appears with the question "Do you want to download Poweriso?", pointing out that it's "proprietary but gratis", with a Yes/No choice.

All versions of the 'acetoneiso' package, versions 2.3 and prior, hosted in the repository, requires and aggressively recommends that the user install the proprietary, non-free component 'poweriso', for all of its image conversion and some of its core file handling functionality.

A similar bug report (#609526) was filed on the Debian BTS suggesting a possible DFSG policy violation and potentially moving the package to the non-free 'contrib' section of their repository. As of filing this bug report, no such change has been made upstream and the core developer shows no signs of removing the offending dependency.
