I'm not too keen on using scrollbars to navigate a main window, so I'll just leave the fix at restoring old behavior for now.

The default shell now has a fixed width and height and this doesn't grow when a front end plugin needs more space like it used to.

Perhaps instead of the old behavior we should do two things:

  • Scrollbars automatically kick in when window width and/height isn't enough. (the auto part is an actually property than can be enabled, no code required...)
  • Have the default shell remember (in the GUI_STATE_SUB_DB, not the config file) how wide it was last time it was resized so a user who prefers it bigger and to not have to deal with scroll bars can just set it once to where they want it and have it be the same when they return.
