When "dom.ipc.plugins.enable" under "about:config"  is set to "false" both Totem and gecko-mediaplayer load. This turns off out of process plugins. There is nothing more that can be done.

Working code in trunk and stable branch. Totem and gecko-mediaplayer do not load, though.

It seems the slow down is caused by Totem plugin (2.32) and gecko-mediaplayer (0.9.9.2). VLC (1.1.4) run smoothly, but downloads the entire clip

There are few issues with IceCat 6.

The first one is that the script does not load at all.
This is caused by the code that injects the script in the page, so it can run outside Greasemonkey. The fix is to encode the string in base64.

If that is done, the script loads but the browser is not responding for 40-50 seconds when the Linterna Mágica interface is drawn.

After that period the browser is responsive and Linterna Mágica is visible, but it is waiting for the video plugin.
