Applied, thanks.

The behaviour of FT_ASSERT is caused by history :-)

If you don't like this please provide a patch which makes it configurable.

The PDF document attached to http://code.google.com/p/sumatrapdf/issues/detail?id=1532 triggers the assertion in T1_Compute_Max_Advance because one embedded font (YHQJWD+KeplMM_385_575_10_ contained in PDF object 1810) apparently contains a /BuildCharArray which however is never initialized due to face->blend being false in T1_Open_Face.

We've fixed this assertion with http://code.google.com/p/sumatrapdf/source/detail?r=4400 since FreeType assertions are fatal in our debug builds.

BTW: Is there any reason why FT_ASSERT (resp. FT_Panic) exits instead of aborting?
