This is fixed in release 3.00 by specifying recursions level for file search operation. In customers system was a directory recursion created by Wine (known problem)

Hi Dieter,
please attach the full trace.log. Trace.log can be found in <user dir>.DataExplorer/Logs. (refer to README)

Please also attach /tmp/bootstrap.log

For short term you can try to delete <user dir>.DataExplorer by "rm -r ~/.DataExplorer"
and restart with as user "<full_qualified_installation_directory>/DataExplorer"

When launching DataExplorer I am getting the following error message:
at gde.utils.FileUtils.getFileListingNoSort(FileUtils.java:1225)

My java version is:
java -version
java version "1.6.0_22"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.10.4) (suse-0.3.2-i386)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 20.0-b11, mixed mode)
