Hi Eric!

Yes, you can first render any scene into an FBO and then apply whatever correction you want: warping, blending, masking, color calibration etc.

You could build this directly into Bino, but I'm not sure that is the right place for it.

It would be an interesting postprocessing add-on for the Equalizer library (equalizergraphics.com). Then it would be available to all kinds of distributed OpenGL applications.

We have a curved screen in the virtual reality lab at the University of Siegen, and we use such a solution for dynamic (view-dependent) warping (the static part is still performed by video processors).

Regarding this bug report: I think that this functionality it too specialized to be built into normal Bino releases; it only makes sense as a tailored solution for your setup. Therefore I'm closing this bug as 'wont fix', but feel free to re-open it or to contact me if you would like to discuss this further.

Best regards,
Martin

Hi, I have a feature request. I haven't gotten into the code for Bino yet myself, but I was wondering if the frame buffer objects could be exploited in such a way as to use a warp-able mesh to allow geometric corrections. The simplest case is to fix some keystone issues we have with or big 3D projector ( a digital projections lightning 3D) that doesn't have any geometric correction built in, but it would be even cooler to be able to warp video for complex surfaces like curved screens.

Just a thought.

Maybe I'd better start looking at the code!

Thanks for this really great project!!!!

Eric.
