This has been improved (solved?) in revision 2292. The near clipping plane is now (again) set independently from the viewing direction.
It solved the problems in my cases. Maybe we will now have to further tune the interactive camera settings widget.

I am closing the bug, but if anyone still observes problems, feel free to reopen it.

You can use one of the following:

- rotate the camera to another viewing direction, and then do zoom all

- open the camera settings dialog and move the near clipping plane (this will be reset by the next zoom all, though)

- maybe changing the autozoomfactor (Settings, Mouse) might also
help

For a permanent fix, we should probabbly make the autozoom clip plane setting (or at least a correction to it) configurable.

I suppose my problem is related to this. I am importing some object and i get this error

Error: Invalid Near/Far clipping values

I dont know how to visualize them. Any suggestions?

For long objects displayed in the the direction of the camera,
the default near clipping plane is set too close to the scene center. As a result the front part of the scene may be clipped even when doing a zoomAll().
