This is the PPP part of bug #36369: when the PPP checksum covers just the first 2 bytes of the last pbuf, a zero length pbuf is created when checksum is stripped from the input queue (in pppInProc()). This leads to crashes in other parts of the stack where zero length pbufs are not handled correctly.
