Closing this bug since it originally was about "odd/even rows" input which is supported. If there are other open topics, please open seperate bugs for each of them.

Ahh, it works for odd/even input. I looked for it, but it was off the end of the menu and I didn't scroll down. Now I found it. Something that might make it easier would be to put this at the top of the menu when 480i is the input, as this is the most likely 3D format. I doubt there is any way to easily catch this.

As to DVD decoding the VLC player which ilso GNU license might be worthwhile looking at as you might be able to use some of their code. And then again it might be easier to write from scratch.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The input format "odd/even rows" is supported. If it does not work for you, what exactly goes wrong? Do you have a test file so that we can reproduce the error?

Regarding part 2 of your report: there is a bug report to add support for BluRay and DVDs. See bug #33370. However, this is a massive task; nobody started to work on that yet.

Regarding part 3 of your report: support for playlists is planned, see bug bug #33280. This will allow to play multiple files in a row. (Currently, you can already do that via script files, but not via the GUI).

This format encodes the L&R on every other line of the interlaced frame. So the input format would have to be odd/even rows. Then the in between missing lines would have to be interpolated. Of course if the frames are deinterlaced before separating the fields, the 3D is destroyed.

The data is there as I was able to view such a video on my FPR monitor by selecting 2D and then adjusting the window size to match the resolution, and it worked, but the picture was very small.

OK, there is not as much available in this format, but currently the only way to get most legacy classic films is in this format. I would also suggest that it might be possible to use BINO as the back end to another program that decodes the DVD/Blu-Ray organization, or BINO could have the option of playing multiple files sequentially.
