ok, this time it is fixed for good I believe.

so I close this bug, although I still do not understand
why the scrollbar caused it.
please report if you see this bug again.

I commented out some code in circle.py that seems to cause that bug, although I do not unerstand why it does so.

(the scrollbar of the the gtktextview in the configuration dialog)

In the config menu a gtkTextView object is created :
self.description_entry = gtk.TextView()

No texttag is added to the buffer before some text is inserted.
Could it be that pygtk does not like it?

[nb: the same holds for the post gossip dialog]

I made sure that assert_visible() and window.hide()
are always called from the main thread.
We'll see if it comes from that.
Please report it it still occurs...

I have that message too. (and the occasional crashes too)
My guess is that it comes from gtk functions that should be called from the main thread and that are not.

for what I can see, it seems to occur when the download manager window has been open/hidden

Circle occasionally prints out this warning:

(circle:21079): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtktexttag.c: line 1932 (gtk_text_attributes_ref): assertion `values != NULL' failed

(circle:21079): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtktexttag.c: line 1932 (gtk_text_attributes_ref): assertion `values != NULL' failed

and then somtimes crashes.

Two other people have reported this.

I originally thought it might not like texttags without properties, but evidently thats not it.
