I cannot confirm this. I've checked again with different Chromium version:

18.0.1025.151 (Developer Build 130497 Linux) Built on Ubuntu 11.10, running on Trisquel 5.5

I am able to install Linterna Mágica. Tampermonkey is really crashing or hanging sometimes while installing. During the installation of Linterna Mágica most of the time Tampermonkey keeps displaying "Please wait", but the installation is successful. I don't see what I can do. There is nothing special in the code for installation. The installation is not a thing I can control from within Linterna Mágica's source code.

It is best to check with the Tampermonkey developer(s) and report back. If there is something wrong on Linterna Mágica's side, I might fix it, although Chromium is not officially supported and I am not very happy supporting it while it has licensing issues.

I am closing this issue. If you still have difficulties or can provide new information that requires changes in the code, please reopen the bug report.

Thanks.

Just checked again, it that I can no longer install LM with Tampermonkey, but updating is ok if LM is already installed.

Hi,

As you've said in the report, Chromium (& Chrome) are not supported. Although as a courtesy I've check Chromium in my Debian Wheezy virtual machine install (fully updated). This is only because Chromium is in the gray area. It is not supported, because it has licensing issues. [1] Chrome being proprietary software will not receive any bug fixes.

Chromium is at version 20.0.1132.57. With or without Tampermonkey (2.5.64), Linterna Mágica (trunk and stable) installed fine by just clicking the userscript file. It also worked as expected.

I set up Ubuntu 12.04 for someone today, after installing chromium I installed tampermonkey and tried to install LM but TM crashed. This is strange because I have the same setup and it works fine. I checked that the chromium version, build and tampermonkey versions are the same. I am getting LM automatic updates everyday with no problem.

So to make sure it is not a hardware problem (can't imagine what it would be) I reproduced the setup in a spared partition on my own PC and again tampermonkey crashed. I tried chrome and it didn't work either, I got "//invalid chrome extension" on the address bar when I tried to install the script with TM(I know Chrome is not supported but LM installed and worked for it on my working partion, I have 5 browsers to test things like LM. The info may be relevant. version, same built and same tampermonkey version)In my work system the browsers(chromium and Chrome) and tampermonkey have been installed a while back but have been constantly updated. The installations that don't work are new.

I don't know what to make of it. I am going to file a bug with tampermonkey soon. Thanks.
