Add a New Comment (Rich Markup)
This bug doesn't appear in python3. I realize many people are still using python2, but this is a minor issue with a low priority.
It looks as if Ranger (or ncurses?) cut strings by bytes, not by characters. The example screenshot is attached: there are english and russian alphabets on separate lines in an UTF-8-encoded file. Since each cyrillic character is represented by two bytes in UTF-8, the cyrillic string gets cut in the middle of the preview column, not at the right end where it should!
(Note: upload size limit is set to 16384 kB, after insertion of the required escape characters.)
