In rev 2577 the timeout has been implemented in the runCommand.
It works on my test cases (VMTK based). Need for tests with different processes.

The new implementation of runCommands, based on the subprocess module instead of commands, makes it easy to implement such a feature. The external command is executed in a subprocess created with Popen(). Now we just wait() for it to finish. But we could start a timer that sends a terminate() signal after some given time (and maybe send a kill() some time after that, in case the
terminate did not succeed).

[field #13] Summary: runCommand, give max run time
[field #14] Original Submission: An external application using the runCommand can take a long time to give a correct result or can start hanging on.

It is possible to specify in the runCommand an option that limits the maximum run time? If the command would take longer than this max time, it should return sta = 1 (like an error).

Does it make sense?
