Closing this since all seems to be sorted out.

Thanks for discussing this!

I solved the problem, now Bino works excellent!.

Based on this bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=691659
I removed the repository multimedia, I removed all packages with version 7:1.0.1-dmo1 (including the KDE environment for dependency problems). I installed all packages libav* and ffmpeg to version 6:0.8.4-1 and Bino works.

Conclusion: Bino does not work with ffmpeg and libav version 7:1.0.1-dmo1
(at least to me).

Greetings!.

1)_ Avresample:
I do not understand this command: "grep -B1 -ni resample ffmpeg-dmo-1.0.1/debian/rules"

In console tells me: No such file or directory
The package "/var/cache/apt/archives/ffmpeg_7%3a1.0.1-dmo1_amd64" does not have the file /debian/rules.
¿?.

2)_ Console:
I realized that despite eliminating Bino with APT, it remained stayin in my application menu.
I traced it and found that in the /usr/local/bin , existed the bino and ffmpeg files.
I removed both and reinstalled everything, I think it works a little better now.

Now it shows me the error: "Cannot initialize conversion context."
But the console displays all the error's info (data.tar.gz attachment).

3)_ Output S/DIF:
If Bino sends stereo sound instead of 5.1, it's not relevant for me.

4)_ Errors and files types:
The Bino played so good in Windows, use the same files as evidence.
Add: now it shows me the same error for all the files, see attached log.

5)_ Driver video:
I just tested the opensource driver, but it still doesn't work.
So now the last driver install proprietary stable (12.10).

Patience please, I'm not a advanced user and do not speak English.
Thanks for the help.

1.
$ grep -B1 -ni resample ffmpeg-dmo-1.0.1/debian/rules
49-# Not yet
50:# --enable-avresample

Your information still says nothing, please check with
# apt-cache policy libav* libsw*
if the right packages are installed or

# aptitude reinstall
the listed packages to be sure.

2.
Your shell environment is broken, fix and/or $ reportbug.

3.
Bino does not support AC3 output, it provides it as decoded 6ch PCM on the OpenAL interface and OpenAL does not support AC3 passthru, so what Your receiver gets is PCM stereo only because Realtek ALC892 does not support 6 channels s/pdif output either:
https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/1/5/91

4.
If You dont get the "invalid frame" error with other mp4 content, then that file was badly encoded or damaged during download, "But it works with mplayer" does confirm nothing because mplayer has got a very advanced and tolerant media error handling especially for torrent downloaded files, but Bino has not.

BTW, the error may be side-effect triggered by Your proprietary GPU driver, please retry with the opensource driver radeonhd(?) instead.

It's mostly nearly impossible to handle proprietary closed source display drivers bugs introducing faults in Bino's OPENGL video output...

...

For Your report topic I can confirm Bino crashing often assertion failures like these:
bino: ../../src/xcb_io.c:385: _XAllocID: »ret != inval_id«
bino: ../../src/XlibInt.c:593: _XPrivSyncFunction: »dpy->synchandler == _XPrivSyncFunction«

Please try to confirm that as soon Your shell environment allows stderr output,
thank you very much.

1)_ I use Debian Testing Wheeze x64 with the repository multimedia testing.
Video: AMD Radeon HD 6850 with driver privative 12.11 beta.
Audio: Realtek ALC892 with driver alsa 1.0.25

I have installed the following packages:

ffmpeg
ffmpeg-dbg
ffmpeg-doc
libavcodec-dev
libavcodec54
libavdevice-dev
libavdevice54
libavfilter3
libavformat-dev
libavformat54
libavutil-dev
libavutil51
libpostproc-dev
libpostproc52
libswresample-dev
libswresample0
libswscale-dev
libswscale2

They all are version 7:1.0.1-dmo1
I do not understand what you mean. For Bino to work, do I have to have avresample enabled or disabled?

2)_ I use screenshots because nothing is displayed on console, capture attached example.
"$ LC_ALL=C bino -L debug 2> binodebug.log" command not keep anything in the log, only: "bino: [wrn] Cannot initialize LIRC."

3)_ I use the S/PDIF optical out (5.1).

4)_ Ok, sorry.

Please report Your audio bug from ffmpeg git master to the ffmpeg bugtracker and user mailing list, I can confirm that, but not for the 1.0.1 release at least for the dmo packages.
ffmpeg git needs libavresample which is not supported yet in Bino but in mplayer,
mplayer git doesn't complain anymore about missing resampling support if You build it and ffmpeg git with avresample support which is disabled by default in ffmpeg configure.

2. Screenshots are rather useless to Linux developers, please run bino from console with:
$ LC_ALL=C bino -L debug 2> binodebug.log
and attach this log here compresses with tar.bz2.

3. If You say it works fine with windoze 7, please say how You do DTS/AC3- passthru from Bino to Your AV-Receiver with it.

4. Please DO NOT POST anything related to ILLEGAL DOWNLOADED MOVIE content here like Your screenshots, maybe You should report to the "windowze" freebeer encoders authors or to who ripped Your illegal content,

otherwise Bino team maintainer may get in serious legal trouble, thank You.

SO: Linux Swheeze (testing) x64

With 1.4.0 version shows me this error: "invalid frame size." Screen capture: http://s2.subirimagenes.com/otros/8213035captura.jpg

With 1.4.1 version shows me this error: "Cannot handle audio with sample format fltp."
Screen capture: http://s2.subirimagenes.com/otros/8213048captura2.jpg

In Windows 7 it works ok.
