configure --without-equalizer followed by make ends with:
dispatch.o:/home/user1/bino/src/dispatch.cpp:306: first defined here
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

I'll wait for the repositories update to 1.4.2. Thank you

1.4.2 is released now and should fix the problem.

I'm closing this bug now, but please reopen in case the problems persist.

You can probably configure --without-equalizer to avoid that problem (unless you use render clusters for video output).

But anyway I'll push out 1.4.2 soon.

OS: Linux 3.4.11-2.16-desktop x86_64
System: openSUSE 12.2 (x86_64)
KDE: 4.9.5 "release 3"

I was using the binaries from Packman repositories.

Tried to build from git. First major headache was the fact that in openSUSE the dependencies for bino are called different than in Debian. Now, configure only complains about the optional liblircclient and none of the openSUSE packages seem to be recognized (I think they are liblirc_client in openSUSE instead of liblircclient).
Since lirc is just optional and I wasn't using it anyway, I proceed but make fails with:

/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.7/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld: warning: libGLEWmx.so.1.7, needed by /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.7/../../../../lib64/libEqualizer.so, may conflict with libGLEWmx.so.1.9
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

I'll try a few things but likely I'll have to wait for 1.4.2 update in repositories.

Thanks

This is very likely due to a recent FFmpeg upgrade. They changed their interfaces and broke applications that relied on the previous behavior, such as Bino.

There is a fix in current Bino git:
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/bino.git/commit/?id=25cb165ae138968c277dbcb11823e99a1b78a1d0

Can you try that?

Otherwise, what distribution do you use? If these problems start to appear in distributions, we should probably release 1.4.2 with that fix very soon.

Same MKV files worked fine a couple of weeks ago. The only changes to the system since, the updates prompted by automatic update (apper). I did notice bino as one of the updates.
