I didn´t notice that. My point is that it should also be possible by using the space bar and the mouse button, so you don´t have to click on the toolbar icon.

Panning is already implemented. Panning is possible after selecting the hand cool item. Afterwards it is possible to pan and zoom.
Panning is not seamless possible like zooming, so may be this is the feature request?

When you have zoomed into the graphic, it would be nice to have a panning function, i.e. when you press and hold the space bar you can then use the left mouse button and moving of the mouse to move the graphic.

If space bar + mouse is hard to implement, you could also use the right mouse button (but shouldn´t display the context menu after releasing the button of course). Though, Space+Mouse is more often used in other programs.
