The color attribute is experimental and under revision (it should be moved inside the 'attrib' attribute dictionary.

In the mean time, you can fix your problem by removing the color attribute from the object:

I have read a binary STL (not generated by pyFormex) into pyFormex.

S=TriSurface.read('fn.stl')

print (S.color)
gives a automatically-defined color:
(0.7529411764705882, 0.7529411764705882, 0.7529411764705882)
and if I draw it
draw(S,color='red)
it is still gray and not red.
To have it in red, I need to set
color.red='red'

So it seems that the S.color has higher priority than draw(S,color='red'). However, I think it would be better the other way around: the color explicitly set by the user in the draw function should get higher priority than the automatically set S.color.
