I'm going to close this one, as Dianara now has (since v1.2.0, at least, and even more so in v1.2.2-dev) several fallback icons included, used when the user's environment doesn't set an iconset, or uses an incomplete one.

Dianara should display the environment's icons under any GNU/linux "full desktop" providing a freedesktop.org-compliant iconset.

In cases where there's no iconset, or the iconset doesn't provide the necessary icons, the included fallback icons (taken from the Oxygen iconset) will be used.

Hi, Parabola GNU/Linux-libre developer here. I'm currently building Dianara 1.1 for [pcr]. Unless the issue has been fixed since this was reported, it is almost certainly a case of the system Qt icon set being misconfigured, not an issue in Dianara.

Well, as it is now, Dianara uses icons from the system iconset.

So, if you use a desktop environment like Plasma Desktop, XFCE or Gnome, it will use the general iconset configured for the environment.

Since you're using a bare WM, my guess is that the "system iconset" is undefined, so there are no icons.

I can do two things about this: One is to provide at least some icons with Dianara itself, and set them as fallback where system icons are used (at least in some places). This would also help people who use a full desktop environment, but only see certain icons because their iconset is incomplete.

The other option is to add a configuration option in Dianara where you can specify the name of the iconset you want to use. I need to investigate this option, but if it works as I expect, this would be fast to implement.
