It turns out that the two issues are different. One has too many (more than 10) devices and another too little (just one set of 'and' connected which is a single token). Both should be fixed now in v1.2.6. The changeset:

changeset: 1315:d7a38d165b4d
branch: 1.2.6
parent: 1297:535a9abf5b05
user: Dejan Muhamedagic <dejan@hello-penguin.com>
date: Wed Oct 16 12:44:14 2013 +0200
summary: Medium: cibconf: fix two fencing top issues (savannah#40173)

It may take a day until the new packages are published in OBS.

I'm not able to reproduce either.

However, I'm not sure it's related, but I also have a fencing_topology issue with crmsh 1.2.6.

I have a 6 nodes cluster with 12 stonith resources.

"fencing_topology stonith-cluster-xen stonith-xen-ardbeg stonith-xen-bunadh stonith-xen-bushmills stonith-xen-chichibu stonith-xen-coleburn stonith-xen-eddu stonith-xen-hakushu stonith-xen-kornog stonith-xen-millburn stonith-xen-nikka stonith-xen-yoichi"
gives a "INFO: object fencing_topology cannot be represented in the CLI notation"
"crm configure show" displays the fencing_topo in xml

if I only use "fencing_topology stonith-cluster-xen stonith-xen-ardbeg stonith-xen-bunadh" it's ok. and crmsh is able to represent the topology "in the cli notation"

(the only difference is length / number of stonith resources)

Hello,

I'm using RHEL6 based system (it's centos actually), so it's quite close to fedora I guess..

package versions:

pacemaker-1.1.8-7.el6.x86_64
corosync-1.4.1-15.el6_4.1.x86_64

I've compiled latest fence-agents package (4.0.3) + added netio device support.

Kristoffer, full description is available here:

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/linuxha/pacemaker/88589#88589

will this suffice?

BR

thanks for Your time to both of You!

nik

I'm not able to reproduce this on openSUSE Factory:

yoyo-b:~ # crm --version
1.2.6-55.7 (Build 6c2edea885b534c94b6b606e1c37ab3e62ca7854)
yoyo-b:~ # crm configure show
node $id="167906631" yoyo-b
node $id="167906632" yoyo-c
yoyo-b:~ # crm conf
crm(live)configure# fencing_topology vbox4: stonith-vbox3-1-off,stonith-vbox3-2-off,stonith-vbox3-1-on,stonith-vbox3-2-on
crm(live)configure# show
node $id="167906631" yoyo-b
node $id="167906632" yoyo-c
fencing_topology \
vbox4: stonith-vbox3-1-off,stonith-vbox3-2-off,stonith-vbox3-1-on,stonith-vbox3-2-on

On Fedora, the xml production is somehow screwed, the expected and generated ids are different, though the XML is otherwise fine.

Nikola, which platform do you have?

Hi,

I am unable to reproduce the error, and I suspect that it may be caused by something else in your configuration. Could you share your complete configuration?

I do get the issue that it shows the fencing-topology information as xml, not using shell syntax. I will investigate why this is happening.

Thank you,
Kristoffer

When defining fencing_topology with commas, crmsh prints error message:

crm(live)configure# fencing_topology vbox4: stonith-vbox3-1-off,stonith-vbox3-2-off,stonith-vbox3-1-on,stonith-vbox3-2-on
ERROR: syntax: fencing_topology stonith-vbox3-1-off,stonith-vbox3-2-off,stonith-vbox3-1-on,stonith-vbox3-2-on

However topology seems to be defined:

show
.
.
xml <fencing-topology> \
<fencing-level devices="stonith-vbox3-1-off,stonith-vbox3-2-off,stonith-vbox3-1-on,stonith-vbox3-2-on" id="fencing" index="1" target="vbox
</fencing-topology>
.
.

tested with 1.2.6
