Since commit 6e033a8fd numbers are drawn using TextArray, resulting in much faster behavior.

Therefore, I think the bug can be closed.

This function is extremely slow now and the viewport get stuck when a large number of marks are drawn. Any way to fix or at least go temporarely back to the previous version until fixed?

Projective mode now works (d380c51)

In 5b678f9 smooth mode is made the default. That will assure that
alpha blending is enabled. We should however add the enabling somewhere explicitely, because users can set the default mode back to wireframe in their configuration.

drawNumbers now works (smooth default) but only if using perspective. Switching off the perspective mode gives problems.

Found:
it seems that drawNumbers()/BKIMAGE work fine if you put

smooth()

at the beginning of the script.
Without this line the number and the bkimage are not displayed!

Both examples work fine AND

- if a first run TexText example and then I run another script with drawNumbers the numbers are correctly drawn!

- the same with background image: if I set bkimage I cannot see it, but if I then run the TexText the bkimage appears

- if I first run TexText and then I set a bkimage the bkimage is correctly displayed.

If I try to draw the number or set bkimage without running the TexText example the number/nkimage are drawn.

Why is that?

That is very much like mine:

vendor = 'NVIDIA Corporation'
renderer = 'Quadro K2000M/PCIe/SSE2'
version = '4.2.0 NVIDIA 304.88'
glsl_version = '4.20 NVIDIA via Cg compiler'

I seem to have a K2000M instead of 2000M and my driver is a bit more recent, but I doubt that this would make the difference.

Try running the Texture and TexText examples and compare with the attached images. Note that texture drawing on volumes is not yet supported.

Finally, drawing numbers is currently slooow, because it uses a Python loop. That will be changed in future.

I have tried with both shaders but nothing changes.
Also I have noticed that when there is drawNumbers() the numbers are not drawn but the gui becomes very slow (e.g. rotate the object with mouse is slow).

These are the 4 lines:

vendor = 'NVIDIA Corporation'
renderer = 'Quadro 2000M/PCIe/SSE2'
version = '4.2.0 NVIDIA 304.64'
glsl_version = '4.20 NVIDIA via Cg compiler'

Works for me. See attached image numbers.png, generated from opengl/example0.py.

This could be related to background image not working for you:
https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?41859#comment2

Looks like a problem with using textures on your opengl.
Please post the opengl version (the first 4 lines of Help->OpenGL Format).

Also, try pyformex --shader=_330 or pyformex --opengl=3.30
