According to the man page, If this option is not given, the default value is to find first word that matches: ([0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+\.[0-9]+)

However, when I set up a script on an external host to return the client IP address followed by a newline (using text/plain), the software couldn't find the IP address. With some debugging, I found that it worked if I changed my script to prefix the IP address with the string "WAN IP Address: " I was able to get the dyndns script to work. Either the docs need to be corrected to identify correctly the regular expression which is used by default, or the software needs to be corrected to match the behavior described on the man page.
