I have no idea what your strange construct is supposed to do.
How can you take a multidimensional slice from a 1D array?

I am pretty sure we have no such constructs in pyFormex.
Both of them fail for me in Python with numpy 1.8.1.

As this is not related with pyFormex, I think this bug can be closed as invalid.

I just upgraded my numpy version to 1.9.1, as I needed some features.
Now I have this problem, for array of ndim == 1.
before I could slice like this

but now it does not work anymore and need to be done without the ':'.

I am not sure whether and where we have this in pyformex.
but can you check if the second script works with previous versions of numpy, so that we can change it whenever needed avoiding compatibility issues?
