Was a stupid bug in the X11 keyboard handling code

This is not the standard keyboard jamm issue, since it works in other games with the same keys perfectly. Beside that keyboard jamming only comes into play when you press at least three keys at once, not when you just press two (which are even the cursor keys in this case). So it must be something else.

Is this related to the ClanLib-User thread "Multiple keyboard inputs" from 21 Jan 2003 ?

I believe this is a keyboard jamming issue. Happens with every keyboard, but different keys can not be pressed at once depending on the keyboard model.

ClanLib does not have special handling code for the different keys, so its rather unlikely its clanlib doing anything wrong. Its easy to verify this by testing it with applications using the arrow keys. Unless it works in other apps, this is most likely not a ClanLib bug.

Pressing Cursorkey-left/right together with up doesn't work, only the left/right keypress will be handled, the up one is ignored (aka shown as not pressed). It works fine with left/right + down. The code that triggers this simple asks about the button states like this with:

CL_Keyboard::get_keycode (CL_KEY_RIGHT)
CL_Keyboard::get_keycode (CL_KEY_LEFT)
CL_Keyboard::get_keycode (CL_KEY_UP)
