mkpatch has been completely rewritten, which should have fixed this bug.

Just made another patch for my project in which I've added
few files with
arx add ... command.
Then I did arx make-log, arx commit and finally
arx what-changed
dima@dt4:/prj/lw$ arx what-changed

      • metadata changed

./secondary/corp-admin/audit_reports.htm --permissions 666
./secondary/corp-admin/images/audit_reports_head.gif
--permissions 666
./secondary/corp-admin/images/leaders_report_head.gif
--permissions 666

All this happens with rebuild arx which use /usr/local/bin/bash

dima@dt4:~$ /usr/local/bin/bash --version
GNU bash, version 2.05.0(1)-release (i386--freebsd4.3)

No, I'm not using bash as default. But I've manually fixed
scripts like : undo, redo for using bash.
I've rebuild ARX as you advising. Let you know soon how it goes.

Thanks!

I just had another bug report (#160) from a person using
FreeBSD which turned out to stem from using the default
shell. Are you using bash or the default? If you are using
the default, could you see if this problem persists when you
use bash? You can configure with bash with

../configure --with-posix-shell=/bin/bash

Thanks,
Walter

In general: after making "arx commit" I'm saying "arx
what-changed" and got a list of files with changed
permissions. This happens almost every time I create a
project and commit files for the first time. After this
first commit file permissions on some files broken.

Example of the same problem:
dima@dt4:/d2/dt/public_html/lw8$ arx what-changed

      • patched regular files

./secondary/personalize/debit_card_application.htm

      • metadata changed

./giftcert --permissions 777

dima@dt4:/d2/dt/public_html/lw8$ arx make-log
.....

dima@dt4:/d2/dt/public_html/lw8$ arx commit
dima@dt4:/d2/dt/public_html/lw8$ arx what-changed

      • metadata changed

./giftcert --permissions 777

giftcert is:
dima@dt4:/d2/dt/public_html/lw8$ ls -l giftcert
lrwxrwxrwx 1 dima wheel 17 6 ноя 2002
giftcert ->
./exec/replica.pl
dima@dt4:/d2/dt/public_html/lw8$ ls -l ./exec/replica.pl
-rwxr-xr-x 1 dima wheel 11875 29 апр
11:58 ./exec/replica.pl

I'm running arx on FreeBSD 4.6, patch 2.5.4,diff (GNU
diffutils) 2.8.1
